Can I ask is there any oral alternative to, Endectrid Spot-on for dogs. We use it or I will say we try and use it monthly as a preventative for flees. Our 3 year old female Border Collie Lara (25kg) is such a sweet and friendly dog. However, she has such an aggresive aversion to the spot on treatment. We have spent months trying to condtion her with treats and good behaviour training. But even a whiff of the treatment or a glance of the tube and she will run and hide in a corner of the room or under the furniture. If we approach which feels wrong as clearly she is feeling cornered and scared, she will show her teeth, growl/bark and now tries bite us if we try to apply it at the back/base of her head/neck. Its utterly heartbreaking to do this as it feels like we are betraying all the trust the dog has in us as she is clearly afraid of this. It takes days for her to act normal again as she wont come near us afterwards. The aggression to it is getting worse. I fear that one day she may really bite deep.

Hello!  Yes, the short answer is that there are veterinary-licensed oral flea treatments available and since it sounds as though your girl is making her feelings clear, we would reccommend staying safe and asking your vet to help you to choose a different regeime.  At some vets, the general firstline choice of flea and wormer may be determined by brand loyalties / national deals etc, but the same drug will never suit every individual so the need to prescribe something different for some animals is generally understood.
