I recently rescued a pitbull, he had spots and sores when I got him bit I thought it was from how he was treated by the previous owner, but they have gradually gotten worse, they seem to be bothering him he does itch them and sometimes they can bleed, Any idea of what it could be?20231017_18330120231017_183330

Hello - what is notable about these lesions is the hair-loss associated with them.  This makes me wonder about Ringworm and Demodex, which do itch (causing licking) sometimes although more commonly not. You would need to be careful in the event of Ringworm as it is contagous to people, especially the very young, very old and otherwise immunocompromised.  Other possibilities include allergies e.g. food allergies, urticaria, or nettle stings and insect bites.  Contact allergies, cancers / tumours or autoimmune conditions and foreign bodies may also be on the list of possibilities.  Sometimes, licking is a response to pain e.g. abdominal pain.  Most of these conditions need a vet and usually tests in order to differentiate between them.  The treatment that will work depends very much on what the cause turns out to be.  Your vet may ask you to take precautions in case ringworm turns out to be a possibility.
