IMG_6208IMG_6207Hi all!! I was giving my dog a belly rub and noticed a bump. Moved his fur and seen this funky bump. Anyone has any ideas of what this could possibly be? He’s unable to be seen until next week at his vet.

Hello - I'm afraid that this isn't coming up very clearly on my screen - I'm finding it hard even to identify the position on the abdomen from this angle.  But here is a list of things that might be going on, amongst others:  a) a nipple or extra nipple, normal or inverted (look for others for context - they tend to form rows but do not necessarily line up in pairs) b) part of the umbilicus, either normal or abnormal  c) a tick (warm places) d) an inflammatory lump / reaction e.g. a local mast-cell reaction to a surface foreign body e) some kind of tumour, cancerous or benign  f) ringworm - the picutre is hazy and I wouldn't rule this out g) a secondary yeast infection, secondary to something else, or a keratinous plug.  Because some of the things on this list may be concerning, and because I cannot examine it from here and nor do I have much context e.g. as to the length of time, itchiness, general condition of the patient, geographical location etc, then that appointment with your vet sounds to be a good idea, to see if the options can be narrowed down a bit in person.  Sometimes, a biopsy may be needed to properly identify things; other times, it may be obvious to your vet in context, or they may come up with a short-list, some of which will improve with treatment.  Phone triage can always be done by your vet or repeated if things are changing, meanwhile all the best with identifying this lesion soon.  Please will you let us know what they find?
