IMG_1236Hi there! My one and a half year-old American bully has this growth on his rear back. I made an appointment after Thanksgiving for him to be seen. Do you think it is an emergency? Thank you for your input.

Hello and thankyou for your question and photo.  By itself and assuming the absence of other symptoms, it seems very unlikely that the lump on your dogs' back is an emergency, an emergency being something that is likely to deteriorate fast within a short space of time without interference.  However, as with any lump, please do make your vet aware of it as they may triage the case and book an appropriate appointment if and as they feel it's required.   It is impossible to tell for sure the urgency / cell type of a lump by looking at it; I am making assumptions based on it's appearance.  However, I know of no vets that remove skin lumps on an emergency basis.  Please will you let us know how you get on?
