Hello. I'm afraid that this is a first opinion site and as such, we do.not give second opinions. Indeed I have less rather than more information than your vet, not knowing basic context such as how long the treatment has been going on for, or what caused it the disease or to what degree I think that some good questions you need to ask your vet, however, include; 1) can this condition completely recover 2) what is happening in this case and what does the projected future look like and 3) on what is the vet basic their assessment of how much pain your dog is in and how can you monitor this at home? Perhaps there is an objective pain score? 4) what are the advantages Vs disadvantages of treating the pain at the moment? 5) on what are decisions about exercise based? I hope that this opens up a useful conversation.
Sometimes, when a lot of information is given at once, asking for a copy of the clinical notes outlining their answers can be helpful.
