I'm currently out of the country for work and my sister sent me these pictures of my dog shes saying its possibly cancer or a tumor, but the bump is dry and kind of scaley I'm hoping is just dry skin or irritation. Im going to have her take him to get checked out, but any help or information from anyone on here would be greatly appreciated
Hello - there may be a long list of possibilities for this nose and it's easily possible that your vet won't diagnose it on first sight. I wondered about a wide variety of things, from demodex mites causing swelling and hair-loss, to autoimmune disease, to skin changes linked to hypothyroidism. Cancer is, however, always somewhere on most differentials (possibilities) lists, including this one. It seems a good idea for your sister to take this gorgeous dog to the vets so that investigations to find the underlying cause can get started if need be.
Hi there! My dog has a bump that looks very similar and the vet said it was likely a spider bite but it hasn’t went away. I’m curious to see what was your dogs diagnosis? Not sure if I should reach back out to the vet or see if it heals. Cancer is a scare for me as well. Thanks so much!
