Hello! I am looking for an advice for my 8month old puppy. He’s had these sores on his tongue for a week now and they are getting worse. Took him to the vet and they told me there’s nothing to worry about. The sore started as a red dot on the peak of his tongue which transformed into a white spot and now it spread to the  other side of the tongue. I would really appreciate an advice from a veterinarian. Thank you all in advance.IMG_9183

Hello and thankyou for sharing this picture.  I cant really see this in sufficient detail to be useful but they don't sound normal.  Did your vet mention what they thought they were?  Papillomas (benign tumours) of the tongue might present as white bumps, so can ulceration eg d/t physical damage or burns or some infectious diseases.  Dental disease can lead to infection tracts; autoimmune disease can cause stomatitis (inflammation of the inside of the mouth) and ulcerative disease secondary to other conditions, not to mention parasites or trapped food or foreign bodies might also arise.  Given that the lesions have been developing since your vet last saw them, it is well worth asking  whether your vet would like to check these lesions again.  This plrocess is called triage and can establish how urgent a condition is.  Good questions at triage or the resting appointment might be: what sort of conditions might cause this?  Which ones can be ruled out?  Do you reccommend any tests for diagnosis and, is treatment needed in the meantime?  I hope that sonething here will help.
