Do vets let you visit your dog when it’s in hospital?
If your pet is unwell or recovering from a big operation and has to stay in hospital for an extended period of time then you may like to visit them to see how they are doing. Visiting policies are something that will likely vary from practice to practice but generally, it is something that the majority of practices will accommodate.
Your pet will enjoy seeing you, and it will give you some time to see how they are doing and review their progress. It’s best to check with your practice what their policy is for weekends, holidays and other times, to see if they can accommodate you.
In some practices, you may not be able to come inside the hospital to be compliant with social distancing, but if your pet is well enough and mobile then you may be able to take them for a little wander outside.
