On 18th June, veterinary teams from across the UK swapped their scrubs for something a little smarter and gathered at Thames Rowing Club in London for the BestUKVets Awards 2026.
Powered by VetHelpDirect, the awards celebrate excellence in client care. Every winner is determined by the number of verified 4 and 5 star reviews received from the people who know their practice best: their clients.
And 2026 was a record breaker, with more positive reviews counted than ever before. Thousands of pet owners took the time to share their experiences and recognise the veterinary teams that had cared for their animals.
These awards are not decided behind closed doors by a mysterious panel of judges. Practices do not have to write lengthy entries or convince anyone that they deserve to win. The results come directly from animal owners who want to say thank you.
How do the BestUKVets Awards work?
Veterinary practices can receive reviews through their listing on VetHelpDirect.com. Reviews are moderated and checked to help ensure they come from genuine clients.
Each February, we count the 4 and 5 star reviews received during the previous 12 months. The practice with the highest number wins Gold, followed by Silver and Bronze.
We also recognise the practices receiving the most positive reviews in their county and country, along with specialist awards for different types of veterinary service.
This year saw the introduction of two new categories, Best Home Euthanasia Service and Best Mixed Practice. These additions reflect the wide range of care now available to animal owners, from veterinary treatment brought directly into the home to practices caring for pets, horses and farm animals.
You can find out more about the awards on the BestUKVets website.
Thank you to our sponsors
All UK practices are automatically entered, and the Awards are free for them and for pet owners to take part in, while the celebration itself is made possible with the support of our sponsors.
A huge thank you to Veterinary IT Services, Digital Practice, MWI Animal Health, Wisentic Pets, VetDrive, Lupa, VetSure, IDEXX Veterinary Software and the Pet & Equine Insurance Association for helping us recognise some brilliant veterinary teams.

Gold: BestUKVet 2026
An enormous congratulations to Sanderson Vet, which took home the Gold Award for the second year running!
The team received an incredible 1,407 verified 4 and 5 star reviews during the awards period. That works out at almost four glowing reviews every day.
Receiving the most positive reviews in the country once is an impressive achievement. Doing it again the following year, during a record-breaking year for reviews, shows an extraordinary level of consistency and commitment from the whole team.
Congratulations to all our winners
Every award reflects the work of an entire veterinary team, including vets, veterinary nurses, receptionists, care assistants, administrators and the many other people working behind the scenes.
Thank you to every pet owner who took the time to leave a review. Your feedback helps good practices receive the recognition they deserve and helps other owners make informed choices about their animals’ care.
