You may have seen quite a bit about the Best UK Vets Awards recently (especially if you follow our Facebook page!).
What are the Best UK Vet Awards?
It is vital for people to know which businesses offer the best customer service – and when we’re entrusting the health of our pets to them, it’s doubly important. So, we sponsor these Awards, which are now in their fifth year. The way it works is very simple: on the websites VetHelpDirect.com and Any-UK-Vet.co.uk, clients of any practice can leave reviews of their vets. You’re invited to leave a star-review (one star for really bad, three for average and five for outstanding). You can also leave comments about the practice (good or bad) to explain why you left that score. Remember, these are completely impartial – the practice cannot remove or change them.
On 10th of February each year, we then count up all the four- and five-star reviews, and the practice with the most is declared the winner. We give them a certificate, an awards ceremony and party for their clients, and above all, the right to say that they’re offering exceptional service to their clients.
This year, we’re proud to announce that the winner is…
[drumroll!]
Penmellyn Vets’ St Columb Major hospital, with a grand total of 839 top reviews! This fantastic result left them 200 reviews clear of their closest rival, and reflects their commitment to offering good service.
The runners up were Blacks Vets in Dudley (Silver award), who have held a place in the Top Three for three years now; and Inglis Veterinary Hospital in Dunfermline (who just managed to pip Blacks’ branch in Lye to the Bronze Award).
However, not all practices are the same, and we don’t think it would be fair to allow one type of practice to overshadow all the others. As a result, we also award Best-in-Category Awards:
Best Scottish Vet Practice – Inglis Veterinary Hospital in Dunfermline (as well as third in the whole of the UK!).
Best Small Practice – Heathside Vets (for practices with five vets or fewer, across all their branches).
Best Equine Practice – Penmellyn Equine (the only large-animal or equine practice to make it into the Top 25).
Best Mobile Vet – St George’s Vets 2 You, Stourbridge (this is a fairly new category, but with more and more Mobile practices setting up, we felt it was a sufficiently different type of practice to justify an award of their own).
Finally, we also provide online marketing and publicity resources for every practice to make it into the Top 25:

Dunfermline Inglis Veterinary Hospital
