Avice O’Connor

MVB, Cert Avp(EM), PgDip IAWEL, AFHEA, MRCVS

Avice graduated from University College Dublin before undertaking an internship at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. She then relocated to the UK where she worked in several Equine practices until she joined the University of Cambridge Equine department. She divides her time at work between seeing first opinion cases and teaching veterinary students and feels very fortunate to be in a job where she always has lots of willing and capable students as assistants. Avice holds the RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Equine Medicine and has recently completed her studies for the certificate in Equine Dentistry. She also has a postgraduate diploma in International animal welfare, Ethics and Law and is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Veterinary Education.
Avice’s main clinical interests are dentistry and welfare, particularly on obesity and its prevention.
