Niamh Lingley

MVB PGCertSAM MRCVS

Niamh grew up in Tipperary in Ireland surrounded by horses and dogs. She qualified from Dublin vet school in 2010, and almost immediately moved to the UK to work in a rural mixed equine and small animal practice, where she got a reputation as the only vet who enjoyed dealing with donkeys, and so ended up seeing most of the practices donkey patients!

After 2 years, she decided to concentrate on just small animals and moved to a busy small animal hospital where she worked her way up, over the next 7 years to clinical director. She has a special interest in internal medicine, having completed the BSAVA post graduate certificate in small animal medicine in 2016. Her favourite part of being a vet is getting to know her regular patients over a long period of time and building relationships with their owners.

Niamh lives in Suffolk with a sailing mad husband and a very energetic toddler. She has lived with cocker spaniels, cairn terriers, one very special boxer and a very handsome black cat - but is currently waiting for the next pet companion to enter her life! She dreams of one day having the space to rehome some donkeys.
